Hi!
I'm Rebecca.
Thank you so much for your interest in Audience of One, and for visiting our site! If I have not had the pleasure of meeting you yet, I hope to get the opportunity to meet you very soon. Just a little bit about me...I am a dancer, choreographer, teacher, former pageant titleholder, and now small business owner. I created Audience of One LLC as a ministry to praise God through my dancing. Over the years, God has given me some incredible opportunities to get involved with dance team choreography for several schools in my area. The even greater blessing that came with these opportunities was the amazing students that have impacted my life. Getting to choreograph and teach dance as a career has always been a dream of mine - but getting to serve as a mentor (and really, to learn from all of my students) has been the greatest blessing in disguise.
The heart behind Audience of One has always been to find a way to further God's Kingdom through dance, arts, pageants, and any other way that we can! You will see a lot of different types of content as you scroll through our site, and that is because we do a lot of different things - but all for the glory of God! My team and I work with several local high school and middle school dance teams to create their routines for halftime shows and other school performances. We also work with school pageants as choreographers, judges, and mentors. We are blessed to work with several students who compete in their school pageants, as well as students who go on to compete in local and statewide pageant organizations.
I grew up as a competitive dancer, danced on my high school's dance team, taught dance at a local studio, and then started competing in the Miss Alabama Organization my freshman year of college. While competing in MAO, I held the titles of Miss Wallace State 2013 and Miss Covered Bridge 2014. The scholarship money that I was awarded during my time in the MAO helped to pay for almost all of nursing school. I had been working as a nurse since 2015, and I just recently left my nursing career to pursue full-time studio. I am so grateful that God always had a door open for me to continue dancing and teaching. I believe that there is purpose behind the open doors and opportunities, and I believe that Audience of One is God's calling on my life.
My prayer is to be able to further God's Kingdom and reach my students through our love for dance/pageants/arts. While I want to provide them with a quality dance education and really push them to be their very best dancer, it is more important to me to speak life over them and push them to be their very best self. It can be really easy to get caught up in the need for fame and recognition in the world that we live in today, and I believe that children and teenagers are facing more pressure than ever before to "fit in" and "be like everybody else." At Audience of One, I want you to be empowered to be set apart, to be different, to be YOU - because God only made one of you, and I think the world could learn something from the YOU that God created. I also want to teach my students that when you stand true to who God says you are, the world is going to have something negative to say about you. That is okay. You don't need the world's approval, and you don't need everyone to like you. This is something that I am still learning and working on every day...#workinprogress. But hey, aren't we all? :)
I hope that you will take a look around our site and reach out if there is anything my team and I can do for you! We look forward to meeting you and working with all of our future students! We are so excited to share through dance that our identity is found in Christ, and He is our audience of One.
